Bridgeport ballot investigations are “still ongoing”; CT Senate GOP: “No end in sight.”

For Immediate Release

Sen. Rob Sampson, Ranking Senator on the Government Administration and Elections Committee, and Sen. Republican Leader Stephen Harding issued the following statement regarding how two investigations into Bridgeport’s absentee ballot scandal are ‘still ongoing’ after nearly a year.

“The national embarrassment continues, and there’s no end in sight. State taxpayers subsidize much of Bridgeport’s budget, so our entire state is funding this.

Meanwhile, it’s all on video. Meanwhile, Republicans at the State Capitol continue to lead the push to reform our laws to mandate that bad actors and ballot stuffers do jail time. Connecticut residents are demanding—and certainly deserve—this level of reform. They won’t get it until more Republicans are elected. That’s because majority Democrats in our state have no appetite for change.”
