Senator Somers Celebrates Final Approval of Funding for Groton Early Childhood Education Center

HARTFORD, CT – Today, Senator Heather Somers (R-Groton) announced that the State Bond Commission officially approved the allocation of $2,000,000 to Thames Valley Council for Community Action (TVCCA) towards the Groton Early Childhood Education Center project. This critical funding will be directed towards the development of a new building, significantly expanding childcare services within the community.
Senator Somers stated, “The approval of these funds marks a monumental step forward for families in Groton. This investment will not only provide an enhanced learning environment for our youngest residents but also support parents and caregivers who depend on reliable childcare. I extend my gratitude to the Governor and my colleagues on the State Bond Commission for their support and commitment to early childhood education.”
The $2,000,000 funding, which is part of the Community Investment Fund 2030 initiative, reflects the state’s ongoing dedication to improving early education infrastructure and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed from the start.
