Sen. Gordon Applauds Rejection of CT Water Proposed Rate Increase
June 3, 2024
State Sen. Jeff Gordon (R-Woodstock) today applauded the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority’s (PURA) rejection of Connecticut Water’s proposed 18 percent rate hike.
“I am pleased that PURA rejected this proposed double-digit rate hike, which would have significantly impacted hard-working individuals, families, retirees, and small businesses, particularly in the northeast corner.
“While this decision is a relief, it prompts a critical look at why Connecticut’s utility providers are compelled to propose such steep increases—pointing to flawed state policies. I am committed to continuing to present solutions in Hartford that aim to lower the cost of living, including essential needs such as utilities, which I have been doing,” he said.
