CT GOP Statement on Governor’s Comments on Bridgeport Ballot Fraud Arrests
June 12, 2024
Sen. Republican Leader Stephen Harding and Sen. Rob Sampson, Ranking Senator on the Government Administration and Elections Committee, issued the following statement on the governor’s announcement today that the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee’s Vice-Chair should either step down or be removed after being arrested for election fraud.
“We remain baffled at how long it has taken Connecticut Democrats to demand any accountability whatsoever for repeated stories and videos of absentee ballot stuffing. With these arrests, maybe now they realize it’s becoming impossible to look the other way? The question remains: What will Democrats at the State Capitol actually do to strengthen our election integrity laws and to strengthen the criminal penalties for bad actors?”
