State lawmakers applaud $$ for Barkhamsted road reconstruction  - CT Senate Republic

Barkhamsted state lawmakers are applauding the release of $384,246 in state funding for road reconstruction. This will be matched by $93,400 from the town.

“We want to make sure that Barkhamsted’s infrastructure needs are addressed,” Sen. Lisa Seminara said.  “This funding will help make area roads safer for travel for residents and visitors alike. We will continue working with local officials to ensure that the town’s needs are heard in Hartford.”

“Investing in sound infrastructure improvements is a core function of government,” Rep. Mark Anderson said.  “I am hopeful that these roadway improvements will improve transportation access for visiting and local motorists.”

The grant is provided through the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP), a state program managed by the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) that delivers grants to small towns for economic development, community conservation, and quality-of-life capital projects.
