Seminara, Horn: Norfolk Receives $2.5 M for Firehouse
The State Bond Commission approved funding for the Town of Norfolk during its meeting on Friday. The town will receive $2.5 million for the Norfolk Firehouse.
“I’m very grateful for the Governor’s support for the Town of Norfolk and its Volunteer Fire Department through this grant which will enable the construction of a new fire house,” said State Representative Maria Horn (D- 64th). Norfolk’s emergency teams have endured an extraordinary variety of disasters in recent times, from gasoline spills to catastrophic flooding, which have required extensive work and expense. The new firehouse will vastly improve their ability to continue to serve the town with dedication and expertise.
“What wonderful news for Norfolk!” said State Senator Lisa Seminara (R -8th Senate District). “We want to do all we can to make sure area firefighters are working in a safe and modernized environment. Every day, they make sacrifices to keep the community and area residents safe. This significant funding is a wise investment in public safety and we congratulate the town.”
