“Italian-American Mayor for the Day”
TORRINGTON – In recognition of Italian-American Heritage Month, Torrington state lawmakers on Oct. 12 honored Raymond Mascetti of Torrington as Italian-American Mayor for the Day. Sen. Lisa Seminara, Rep. Jay Case and Rep. Michelle Cook presented Mascetti with an official state citation and read a proclamation signed by the Governor that formally announces the acknowledgement of October as “Italian-American Month” in Connecticut. The lawmakers noted the significant contributions that families of Italian descent have made to our state and country. The month is dedicated to celebrating and highlighting that rich history, those inspiring stories, and how Italian-Americans have achieved the American Dream through perseverance.
