State lawmakers applaud $$ for Canton treatment plant
CANTON – Canton state lawmakers are applauding the release of $374,485 in state funding for treatment plant capacity improvements. This will be matched by $93,620 from the town.
“This is a wise investment in Canton’s infrastructure,” Sen. Lisa Seminara said. “We thank the governor for his attention to Canton’s needs and to our ongoing efforts to improve the region’s quality of life.”
“I’m grateful that, once again, Governor Lamont has provided Canton with much-needed funds that invest in the future of all of Canton’s residents,” Rep. Eleni Kavros DeGraw said.
The grant is provided through the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP), a state program managed by the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) that delivers grants to small towns for economic development, community conservation, and quality-of-life capital projects.
