Senator Seminara Joins Senator Harding and Representative Callahan in Plea to Act on Significant Legislation After Woman is Mauled by Bear in Avon

HARTFORD- Today, Senator Lisa Seminara (R-Avon), joined Environment Committee ranking members Senator Stephen Harding (R-Brookfield) and Representative Patrick Callahan (R-New Fairfield) as they call on Senate and House leadership to act on S.B. 1148 after a woman is attacked by a bear while walking her dog Friday morning.

“First, I am sending my well wishes and speedy recovery to the victim of the attack. Tragedies like todays flirt with inevitable disaster. The conversation that I had with Police Chief, Paul Melanson, could have gone completely differently today and I fear the call when an incident escalates to a more tragic outcome. It isn’t a question of if, it is a matter of when. My concern remains the well-being and safety of my constituents in the 8th District, and I am committed to working across party lines to find a solution before the end of the legislative session”, Seminara said.
