Sen. Fazio Applauds State Bond Commission for the Approval of More Than $3.5 Million For Stamford
HARTFORD – Today, Senator Ryan Fazio (R-Greenwich) applauded the State Bond Commission, which met Thursday morning, for two separate allocations of funding for Stamford. The first provides $1.1 million for the city itself for design and engineering of pedestrian infrastructure in the West Side neighborhood. The second provides $2.45 million for the Pacific House to construct 39 new units of affordable housing.
“The West Side of Stamford is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the state of Connecticut, this funding will allow for critical pedestrian infrastructure upgrades to help our community become safer and more walkable,” said Sen. Fazio.
“The Pacific House does an incredible job of providing desperately-needed food, services and emergency shelter to the homeless population in lower Fairfield County,” Sen. Fazio continued. “Now as a permanent supportive housing organization, this $2.45 million will allow them to dramatically increase their stock of deeply-affordable housing and greatly further their mission of providing a safe and dignified home to those in need. I appreciate the work they perform and was proud to support their request to the Bond Commission.”
