Sen. Berthel Receives Perfect Score for Voting Record on Jobs & Economic Growth
July 12, 2022

Recognized for 100 percent pro-business voting record by CBIA in 2022 Legislative Session Report
State Sen. Eric Berthel (R-Watertown) was recently recognized by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) for his 100 percent pro-business voting record on key bills that it identified as critical to the state’s business community and overall economic growth.
CBIA identified ten key bills from the 2022 legislative session that make up the framework for a legislator’s voting record based on the potential impact—positive or negative—on job growth and the state’s post-pandemic recovery.
Legislators were scored on these measures based on their opposition or support for the business community’s positions.
“I’m proud of this record of support for businesses in the 32nd District and across the state. Without businesses, there are no jobs. Without jobs, there is no opportunity for Connecticut families to enjoy a quality of life that leads them to remain in the state,” said Sen. Berthel. “While we rebound from the pandemic, businesses, like all Connecticut residents, face historic inflation that is hammering their bottom lines. The degree of difficulty in pandemic recovery could not be any higher. We must create an environment in the state that supports these business leaders as they look to not only recover, but also grow their businesses and create well-paying jobs for residents,” he said.
