Sen. Harding Statement on April Jobs Report

“As state officials describe our economy being ‘in good shape’, elected Democrats at the State Capitol want to pass legislation to weaken it significantly.

We just saw Gov. Lamont fold to Democrats and blow through the spending cap that he calls ‘sacrosanct’.

In the coming days, Senate Democrats will pass legislation providing unemployment benefits to striking workers. The governor vetoed that terrible bill last time it hit his desk, but he may cave to Democrats this time around.

The governor also says he won’t support tax hikes, but after his ultimate bait and switch on the ‘sacrosanct’ spending cap, all bets are off.”
